“Honey” is our foundation bitch and the heart of Magnolia Pearl Retrievers. This perfect girl was trained as a Diabetic Alert Dog. She has proven her skill time and time again, working as an active Service Dog and as a fantastic mother. After whelping and raising her third litter, Honey is now retired as a breeder.

Honey’s alerts on blood sugar changes are through a nudge at the hip. This alerts the handler that there is a blood sugar event coming and action needs to be taken. Honey is trained on specific highs and lows and reacts to them accordingly.

Nearly all of Honey’s previous pups have gone on to be service dogs for Diabetics and Veterans.

Honey is a fabulous sporting dog who loves all things in motion. Honey participates in Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, Lure Coursing (FAST CATS), as well as obtaining a Farm Dog Certification and Temperament Testing Certification.

Honey’s Sporting Achievements

Barn Hunt: Barn Hunt Novice _(RATN), Barn Hunt Open _(RATO) , and Barn Hunt Senior _(RATS) titles, as well as 170 points towards her Crazy 8s Bronze _(CZ8B) title.

Canine Good Citizen: Canine Good Citizen _(CGC), AKC Community Canine _(CGCA) and Urban CGC _(CGCU) titles earned

CATS: Coursing Ability _(CA) and Coursing Ability Advanced _(CAA) titles earned, with 16 of the 25 legs towards her Coursing Ability Excellent _(CAX) title

Dock Diving: Dock Senior _(DS), Dock Senior Advanced _(DSA), and Dock Senior Excellent _(DSX) titles earned, with 56 of the 80 required legs to Dock Senior Excellent II _(DSX2) title and 1 leg of the required 5 legs towards her Dock Master _(DM) title.
Honey has 1 leg towards her Air Retrieve Junior _(AJ) title with a catch at 10′
Earned an invite to the 2020 NADD Regionals where she placed 7th! Earned an invite to the 2022 NADD Regionals!
